Ladies and Gentlemen!
The organizers of the 2nd Annual National Congress of Insurance Underwriters (Not-for-Profit Partnership "National Insurance Guild", Not-for-Profit Professional Association of Insurance Specialists "Underwriters' Club" and Business Format Group), assisted by the All-Russian Non-Governmental Organization of Small and Medium-Sized Business "OPORA Russia" under the auspices of an international public organization "Guild of Financiers" have committed themselves to accomplish several tasks aimed to foster the progress of insurance underwriting in Russia:
- unify the insurance underwriter community;
- create a new, democratic venue for exchanging experience, related to the vital issues of insurance underwriting, and working out the strategy of development;
- enhance the Russian underwriters' professional reputation among the international community of insurers and insurants.
- adjustment of partner communications and cooperation relations between the insurance companies;
- development of methodological bases for an estimation of underwriter professional level.
Following the congress, its proceedings will be prepared and published for market participants and the media.
The subject of the congress may be defined as
"Underwriting as the basic tool of the insurance organization competitiveness management".

1. Whether there is competitiveness potential for the Russian insurers.
2. Underwriting strategy and competitive strategy of the insurer.

The 1st Annual National Congress of Insurance Underwriters has taken place on June, 18-19th, 2009 in Moscow and has collected 108 participants - representatives insurance underwriting of Russia and the CIS countries.
